At 1200 AEDT on Thursday, the currency was trading at 71.53 US cents, up from 70.94 cents on Wednesday. Commonwealth Bank of Australia chief currency strategist Richard Grace says the dollar is still rising due to overnight gains in global commodity and equity markets.
