Released by BIO, "The Renewable Fuel Standard: A Decade’s Worth of Carbon Reductions" shows RFS's requirement to substitute biofuels for fossil fuels has, over 10 years, displaced nearly 1.9 billion barrels of foreign oil and reduced U.S. transportation-related carbon emissions by 589.33 million metric tons. In addition to lauding success of RFS, BIO's Brent Erikson noted "unfortunate" delays by EPA in issuing new rules for said program and proposals to halt growth in biofuel market.
