Commuter bus, rail fares to rise in LA

The Los Angeles Times reports that one-way Metro bus and rail fares will jump from $1.50 to $1.75 on Monday, while the cost of a monthly pass will increase from $75 to $100. The agency will also start giving riders two hours of free transfers.
