The renminbi has once again fallen drastically against the dollar in July amid trade tensions with the US, raising speculations about a currency war and putting pressure on authorities to take countermeasures. The Turkish lira also continues to depreciate amid the countrys crisis, fueling worries around the central banks independence. Following a period of harsh depreciation, the Indian rupee has in July remained stable due to interest rate increases and lower oil prices.
