We are looking to further enhance our team by IT Network Engineering Consultancy Support You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The Key person will perform system administration and maintenance for the corporate ICT environment. The foreseen detailed tasks, in order of relevance and to be shared with another team member, include as a minimum Design, operate and maintain the active components of the Network Infrastructure Liaise with external parties for the operation and maintenance of the Phone System Liaise with external parties for the operation and maintenance of the Security System Firewalls, VPN and RSA Infrastructure o Monitor the Internet access service o liaise with 3rd parties and ISP for support o monitor the traffic Operate and maintain the Technical rooms o keep log book of activities o liaise with 3rd parties e.g. AC, power o monitor power consumption o plan and coordinate the removal and installation of racks and IT equipment o monitor physical access Maintain network cable infrastructure fibre and copper o plan and coordinate the installation of new cables o troubleshoot connectivity issue due to faulty wiring Provide physical network connectivity to IT equipment servers, desktops, printers etc o activate and configure VLAN network sockets o patch devices Operate and maintain the KVM system o add and removal of servers to the system o access control to the system logs keeper Maintain System Design and Operations documentation. Provide user 2nd and 3rd level support for service requests and incidents linked to the Network system and the Infrastructure cables, active components and to the Internet access service. Contribute to the procurement of information technology services, systems and components by providing specifications and performing price inquiries Act as interface with hardware and software suppliers regarding procurement, warranty and maintenance issues. Monitor and manage the Infrastructure and Network monitoring systems HP Openview NNM, CiscoWorks, Packeteer and APC management system In the performance of these tasks, the key person shall apply the ICT working practices for o quality management o configuration and change control o system operations and maintenance. Your Profile The key person is required to have as a minimum University degree in Information Technology or comparable discipline Cisco CCNP certification or minimum 5 years of experience in an operational environment Network design skills using Cisco Nexus 7000 series switches Good knowledge of and experience in operation and maintenance of o Cisco switches o Network cabling infrastructure configuration control, patching, media type etc o Firewall o VPN. For supporting documentation tasks, experience is required with o Microsoft Office Suite, including MSVisio. In addition, experience with the following shall be considered an advantage Palo Alto Firewalls Juniper VPN WLAN Infrastructure Big IP F5 Load Balancer Cisco Works DNS VOIP systems ISO 9000 certified project and service environment ITIL and hands on experience in change and configuration management. Demonstrated capability of technical authoring of network system requirements specification, including document structuringorganisation, and of creating and working with technical network diagrams Visio. Ability to present verbally and in writing complex network solutions and systems in a comprehensible way, with the specific ability to explain relevant details while keeping the focus on the overall system aspects. Ability to translate IT jargon into customer business terms. In carrying out the various tasks above, under consideration of the working environment the key person shall be able to apply the following skills and capabilities To work with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of problems, and applying good analytical skills down to the root cause level. To work in teams, willing to share experience and provide cross support to other team members. To communicateinteract adequately with a variety of people at different levels customers, suppliers, peers, leaders in a multinational environment. To understand and anticipate internal customers needs with flexibility to adapt approach and solutions to meet internal customer requirements. To conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, working calmly and correctly under pressure.
