RHEA is currently recruiting an Image Navigation Registration Engineer to support the Image Navigation and Registration Team at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities Depending on the skill profile of the key person the emphasis of the assigned tasks could be either driven by excellent theoretical analysis skills with some understanding of the associated software implementation aspects or a strong software expertise with some understanding of the underlying algorithmic INR Image, Navigation and Registration aspects. The scope of work will include Contributing to existing and future programmes in the development of INR data processing systems, in particular Support the development procurement of the INR data processing systems Support software implementations and modification in delivered INR data processing software Support the verification and validation of INR data processing systems, and their initial operations phase Supporting the investigation and correction of anomalies related to the performance of INR data processing systems Developing and documenting prototype software validating INR algorithms andor realising INR processing concepts for future programmes, in particular for highaccuracy processing of instrument data from 3axis stabilised platforms Supporting the generation of proxydata for INR prototyping or for verificationvalidation of INR data processing systems Develop the inhouse knowledge base related to Image Navigation and Registration INR algorithms and the related software implementations as well as highaccuracy level 1 processing from instruments on GEO and LEO orbits Participation and contributions to formal reviews andor technical meetings. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline An extensive theoretical knowledge of Level 1 data processing algorithms for Image Navigation and Registration, and geometric correction Sound expertise in software development and proven experience in at least one coding language, preferable CC, in a UNIXLINUX environment. Familiarity with at least one tool to support algorithm software development and rapid prototyping, e.g. MATLAB, IDL, Python Handson experience in the design and implementation of estimation filters e.g. Kalman or Leastsquare filters, preferably in an Image Navigation and Registration application context A sound experience in the specification, prototyping, implementation, verification and validation of complex, realtime Level 1 data processing systems for imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft A thorough understanding of the interaction between instrumentplatform characteristics and processing impact, including product quality Experience in the development of INR processing systems preferable for large multiinstrument operational space programmes The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge of imaging andor sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft.
