(Telecompaper) Liberty Global confirmed it has proposed concessions to the European Commission to secure approval for its proposed takeover of Dutch cable operator Ziggo. A spokesman for Liberty Global confirmed information posted on the website of the EU competition authorities, which said commitments were submitted on 14 July. The company declined to provide further details, saying only that it was having a constructive dialogue with the competition authorities and still expects to complete the takeover in the second half of this year. The EC has set a deadline of 17 October for taking a decision on the acquisition.
