Mattel beats Street 4Q forecasts with help from Barbie

Mattel Inc. reported Monday a 43 percent jump in fourth-quarter earnings fueled by strong sales of Barbie dolls, Hot Wheels and games. The El Segundo, California-based company said it had net income of $215.2 million, or 63 cents a share, in the October-December period.
