Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems and applications. TASKS This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. The Mission Planning Engineer MPE shall perform tasks related to mission planning operations, primarily involving the management and use of the Payload Data Ground Segment Mission Planning Facility PDGS MPF and the Flight Operations Segment Mission Planning System FOS MPS, within a SCOS2000 based mission control system. The MPE performs or contributes to the maintenance, update, validation and documentation of the mission planning operational implementation and application software in all mission phases. The operational implementation resides in relational databases and associated business rule management systems, and is used to generate schedules related to satellite payload and platform mission planning. PROFILE In addition to having a university degree or equivalent, the key person shall have extensive experience in Low Earth Orbit LEO spacecraft and ground segment system operations preferably including use of SCOS2000. At least 3 years of general programming software development, including at least 1 year of software development in Java or an equivalent e.g. Drools, JBoss Rules At least 2 years working with relational databases and SQL, preferably involving Oracle database administration Very good command of the English language Ability to work in international teams Good interpersonal and communication skills The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other, together with good communication skills How to apply Please consider the following points before applying Please submit your complete application documents in English.
