According to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), 358,000 tonnes of tin were produced in 2012, a drop of almost 3 percent from 2011.
The ten largest tin producers saw an average output decline of 1.6 percent. Large producers in Indonesia and Peru saw double digit drops in production, but this was offset by Yunnan Tin Group (China) - the world's largest tin refiner.
