House ending bid to kill schools' 'win-win' pact

The Ohio House will abandon a short-lived effort to essentially abolish the 1986 pact between Columbus and several suburban school districts regarding boundaries and revenue sharing. Republican leaders this afternoon are expected to remove from the House version of the state budget an amendment to change the terms of the so-called win-win agreement, legislators said.

Google's push to encrypt ads will improve security, but won't kill malvertising

Google plans to serve most of its ads over encrypted HTTPS connections by the end of June, a move that will protect against some ad hijacking attacks and will encourage website owners to enable encryption on their Web properties. However, malicious advertising attacks that direct users to Web-based exploits will still be possible and, because of the new encryption, it will be harder for security researchers to pinpoint their source.

The U.S. House of Representatives today passed a bill to repeal the federal tax that applies a 40 percent tax rate to estates worth at least $5.43 million. The bill, called the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015, was passed with 240 votes in favor and 179 voting against the measure.
