Position Reference 444 You will have the opportunity to provide optical engineering support to the Optics Section at the European Space Agencys premises. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include General maintenance and servicing of optical, electro optical and electronics measurement equipment and instrumentation in order to assure that the relevant equipment is in an operational state. Analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of optical measurement data and results and provision of formal written reports to the laboratory customers. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have PhD or Msc Degree in experimental physics, optics, optical engineering. You have project andor industrial experience in the design, engineering and testing and verification of various types of optical instrumentation. You have a solid experience in precision optical measurements at system, subassembly and component level. You possess good technical judgement, analytical and excellent verbal and written communication skills, in the English language. You have experience in space project work, and of operations in a cleanroom environment. You have a good knowledge and or experience in the use and application of the ISO 9000 series or ISO 17025 standards for quality management of test laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for endtoend design of optical subsystems as well as simulation development of optical systems from concept all the way through to manufacture.
