Frontier Airlines adds flights to Houston, Salt Lake and San Francisco from Phoenix

The Denver-based airline announced Wednesday it will start daily nonstop service from Phoenix Sky Harbor to Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Houston, starting Nov. 20. Earlier this year, Frontier announced nonstop flights from Phoenix to Cincinnati and Chicago O'Hare, which will start the last week of October. Currently, Frontier only goes to Cleveland and Denver out of Sky Harbor.

San Francisco Considers Car Sharing to Replace Fleet Vehicles

A San Francisco city supervisor has proposed car sharing for city workers as a cost-savings measure and way to replace underutilized fleet vehicles. Under the proposal, which was introduced last week, passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks in the citys fleet would be replaced over the next 13 years and replaced with contracts with private car-sharing companies such as Zipcar or City CarShare. The proposal would not apply to fire trucks, police cars, Department of Public Works maintenance vehicles or other specialized equipment. Researchers in China are reporting that they've taken a big step towards creating a supersonic submarine. This technology, which could just as easily be applied to weaponized torpedoes as military or civilian submarines, could theoretically get from Shanghai to San Francisco -- about 6,000 miles -- in just 100 minutes. If all this doesn't sound crazy enough, get this: This new advance by the Chinese is based on supercavitation, which was originally developed by the Soviets in the '60s, during the Cold War.
