PSF fibers prices are now dropping everywhere with spun yarn prices more or less reflecting the downward trend, depending on countries and counts. More strictly following the volatility of fiber and yarn markets, the latest price variations are now available in our monthly report. The August average prices are released for the month-to-date and compared with average prices in July and previous months. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber prices and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Gross margins of spinners are also calculated. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.

Spun yarn prices have continued to decline in the last week in India, whatever the rebound of cotton prices. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Fiber and linen yarn prices have stayed at high levels in China, reflecting a new rise in demand for linen clothing at retail. Flax fiber production may not rise at the same pace as demand. Spun yarn prices have continued to slightly fall in China, in line with an overall decline of fiber prices. Significant differences may be observed depending on products, nevertheless. We have this week added a table comparing domestic and import monthly prices, including in August. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. Import prices are also available for cotton yarns. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.
