Satellite Payload Operations Engineering Support 1413076 Job Description For our customer EUMETSAT, we are looking for an engineer to support both routine operations and operations preparation of the MSG platform, with special focus on the MSG Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infra Red Imager SEVIRI and backup to the Mission Communications Payload. In a longer term, the engineer will also support the operations preparation of the MTG satellites. The engineer will be integrated in the Operations and Services to Users Department as part of the Meteosat Satellite Operations Team. The tasks ail carried out mainly at EUMETSAT premises, although travel within Europe may be required for some activities. A summary of the tasks to be conducted can be found below Support to the conduct of routine operations of the inorbit MSG spacecrafts and to the commissioning of MSG4. Support to the LEOP preparation and execution of the next GEO satellites. Provision of Satellite Operations Engineer SOE oncall service. Performance evaluation and trend analysis to monitor the inflight behaviour of the spacecraft, including support to yearly and specific operations reviews e.g. eclipses, reconditioning, manoeuvres, decontamination, etc. Satellite Simulator maintenance support and provision of the necessary input to the simulator maintenance team. Support to the satellite monitoring and control facility maintenance team. Support for the maintenance of the MSG Flight Operation Manual. Analysis and investigation of operational events and anomalies particularly relating to the operations of the MSG Spacecraft and associated ground segment elements. Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Participation in the preparation and specification of system updates Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings and reviews. Preparation presentation of Flight Ops Team training material wrt SC Operations. Contribution to the MTG system operations concepts for SC operations related topics. Support, as requested, the specification and reviews of the different operations related elements of the MTG system including satellites and ground segments. Required Skills and Experience University degree in a relevant discipline. Experience in spacecraft operations Routine spacecraft operations Operations preparation of a satellite project Operations andor design of the Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infra Red Imager SEVIRI Instrument Payload and also some familiarity with the Mission Communications Payload MCP Demonstrated analytical approach and attention to detail. Fluency in English.
