We are recruiting for a Flight Dynamics Engineer to support our current and future Low Earth Orbit LEO missions. As part of our team, you will provide support for routine, special and contingency operations of LEO satellites. You will monitor the lifecycle and performance of our satellites, and drive the preparation and validation of flight dynamics systems for future missions and spacecraft. You have an indepth understanding of spaceflight mechanics and experience in operational spaceflight dynamics systems for Earth observation satellite systems. You will also understand the standards and methodologies that apply to space operational systems. Using your ingenuity and creativity, you will provide support for all our LEO satellites. You will work with our partners and colleagues, using your strong interpersonal and communication skills to interpret and present complex problems and solutions. Tasks Design, implement and validate various onground andor onboard orbit and attitude GNC algorithms for individual spacecraft but also for constellations and formations. Participate in the design, development, and verification of GNC flight software prototypes. Perform analyses and support tradeoff studies in the GNC domain. Produce all the necessary associated design and test documentation. Review and evaluate GNC analyses, studies and designs performed by third parties. Develop and tests scripts used during mission operations. Support mission simulations in performing GNC analysis tasks expected during operations. Plan and provide GNC operational support required during flight. Support business development activities in the GNC domain. Essential requirements The successful candidate will have A university Master degree in aerospace or control engineering, mathematics or equivalent. A sound knowledge of celestial mechanics and spacecraft orbit and attitude dynamic. A sound knowledge of spacecraft orbit and attitude GNC theory. Fluency in English. We are looking for a motivated and proactive team player, able to work autonomously showing initiative and selfmanagement skills when performing under time pressure. Desirable Skills The following skills would be an advantage Demonstrated relevant experience in designing andor analysing spacecraft GNC subsystems, algorithms and flight Software. Proficiency with computational analysis software e.g. Matlab, Simulink, etc.. Experience with software development using CC or other objectoriented languages. Other Information Start date is January 2018 or as soon as possible after that. The candidate must have a valid German work and residence permit or be an EU Citizen.
