IT Doors Engineer

Position Reference 098 You will have the opportunity to provide IT Support to Space Technology Projects Section at the European Space Agency. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Setup a DOORS environment for various ESA projects and directorates. Setup and maintain a Cloud service for DOORS. Identify requirements based on classified and unclassified DOORS environments depending on projects needs. The user access to the DOORS system will be also from outside ESA firewalls for authorized external users e.g. Industry, EU, GSA. In the case of access from outside the ESA firewall is necessary, it will be made by means of security tokens, subject to the ESA Security policies. Certain projects might not allow external access from outside ESA firewalls. Work closely with corporate IT services to find the best possible solutions for DOORS environments for internal and external users. Specification and set up of DOORS projects for users if requested. Provide assistance in the technical and functional use of the applications under the Contractors responsibility. Address requests related to applications and products out of his scope to the relevant support groups keeping the user informed. You will provide expert advice regarding current system functionality and respond to Requests for manipulation of the database e.g. generation of specific script for data upload, application configuration, etc. Requests for data extraction, adhoc reports, etc. Troubleshooting applications errors not requiring intervention of the development team. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies University, Ecole suprieure, etc. or equivalent. You have a deep understanding of IBM DOORS You are proficient in databases systems e.g. Oracle, MariaDB, etc. You have experience in developing Web applications using standard application frameworks and related Web technologies. You are capable of Java web development You have experience in Software development Pascal, C, C, Java, Spring, Hibernate, PLSQL, Perl, PHP, VB You are proficient in Software Debugging You are proficient in running operational environments You have a very good working knowledge of spoken and written English language and have excellent communication skills written, interpersonal, negotiation, etc.. You must be able to train and explain issues to users over the telephone and email, and to maintain clear communication with the ESAs technical responsible on all tasks and projects. You are able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Flight Software Systems Engineer

Specific Tasks Within the Flight Software Systems Section, support is provided to the JUICE Mission and in particular to the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI which will characterize the radio emission and plasma environment of the Jupiter System. The contractor will be assigned to the Flight Software Systems Section to work for the Swedish Institute of Space Physics in Uppsala on site and will be in charge of the following initial tasks Development and validation of the software for the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI of the ESA JUICE mission. Perform unit testing of the Instrument software. Generating and maintenance of the required software documentation. Requirements A PhD or Msc or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience with Software engineering. Programming language C and debugging skills gdb. Embedded Real Time Systems and Real Time Kernels RTEMS. Methods for validation and unit testing. The following experience is considered an asset Communication protocols SpaceWire, Simple Serial Interface SSI. Familiarity with test automation. Programming language TCL.
