Interested in supporting tests and having direct contact with the end customer? Looking to design gold standard antennas? Interested in working on the National Satellite Programme NSP? As an Antenna RF Engineer you will be joining a, closeknit and welcoming team, of more than 20 multicultural Engineers. You will be responsible for the life of product from Negotiation to in orbit test including design phase, product development process, prototype build, product qualification and production build. This role would require some travel in other European Airbus sites. For the right person, there are 3 x career paths available for this role Recognised expert in RF Antenna Develop Team Leader skills by managing a team of 23 Engineers Develop Project Manager skills by monitoring and delivering the projects on schedule and on budget The successful candidate may need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Tasks accountabilities Design and development of active antennas. Work on new product development. Perform design and development of advanced antennas, antenna subsystems and antenna elements. Support writing of reports, white papers, bids, proposals, specification definitions and acceptance test procedures. Support design and implementation of RF integrated circuits for Frontend Modules implementing active antenna systems This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Antenna simulation tools TICRA software Good Analytical and mathematical skills Experience in antenna designs and either Antenna Theory or Microwave RF Radio Frequency Engineering. Microwave design experience with Phased Arrays and other active antennas, based on horn and printed radiating elements Experience utilizing electromagnetic simulation tools such as FEKO, CST or similar analysis software. Experience with MATLAB analysis and basic programming. Experience in designing antenna feeds. Experience in passive antenna design Single offset, Gregorian, Single Feed Per Beam SFPB, multiple feed per beam MFB Desirable skills French language is a plus but not Mandatory. Apply HERE

Summary An opportunity for an experienced Mission Operations Safety Engineer to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA UK Objective To deliver safety engineering support to TECQI Independent Safety Office. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Support the ESA Safety Review Panel chairman in the conduct of ESA safety reviews for the certification of International Space Station systems and payloads Provide technical support to projects for the interpretation of safety requirements and the preparation of the safety review data package Perform ESA Safety Review Panel secretarial tasks for data package distribution, reviews planning and logistics, collection of reviewers inputs, issue of official ESRP minutes of meeting ensuring that they are executed according to the process requirements in SSP 30599 and the complementary ESA processes Perform preliminary assessment of safety data package readiness for review Track and process action items responses and safety verifications closeouts Upload of documentation in NASA and ESA databases Assess safety analyses and safety compliance data packages prepared by cargo items providers industrial contractors, experimenters, National Agencies, ISS commercial users and provide detailed written feedback Support ESA in the review of ISS Change Requests relevant to Safety requirements Execute any other safety engineering related task upon request of the ESA Technical Responsible Provide support to the ESRP Chairperson for the aspect associated to resolution of technical issues and conduction of safety reviews Prepare weekly report on the executed safety engineering activities. Qualifications Experience Experience in the design and engineering of safety critical systems Handson knowledge of the safety analyses and methodologies Experience in human spaceflight safety with emphasis on the application of ISS safety requirements and processes and knowledge of ISS systems, subsystems and payloads would be an asset Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment Understanding of the hazards which are intrinsic of a system and or induced by space operations, and the way they are eliminated or controlled Knowledge of the way safety data are generated, validated and retained in support of the ISS programme safety certification Knowledge of Configuration Management Familiarity with space product assurance practices is an advantage Capacity to handle complex situations and complex environment Knowledge of system safety engineering principle, methods and processes. Specific Tasks Under the direct authority of the Head of the ESTEC Facility Management FM Infrastructure Section, the post holder shall be responsible for the coordination of FM general purpose infrastructure projects, including the following activities Preparation of programme of requirements for the initiation of projects, of project initiation documents and project plans including forecast about budget and manpower resource needs, of statements of works and technical description, of feasibility studies and business cases, and the request and delivery of the necessary permits Preparation and active support to the ESA Technical Officer in the procurement of general purpose infrastructure activities including the preparation of tender documents including technical specifications, the participation in tender evaluation boards, the review of tender offers, the negotiation and selection of contractors for the execution of the activities Reviewing conceptual studies, technical experts inputs andor engineering studies e.g. concept designs, preliminary designs, technical notes, related to general purpose infrastructure projects or related to the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities which are outsourced to an external company Ensuring the proper coordination and execution of general purpose infrastructure project activities by outsourced contractors, including the monitoring of all related activities, the compliance to the applicable norms and legislations, the compliance to the project requirements and schedule, the organisation and reporting of project reviews, the control of the performance of the contractors, the maintenance of a project library and documentation, the follow upcoordination of changes to the project scope, and the review of payments Coordinating the commissioning and acceptance of the works upon project delivery, preparing the closeout of the projects, including the follow up of eventual nonconformance items, preparing acceptance certificates, reviewing and archiving asbuilt documentation The post holder could be led to temporarily take over the coordination of activities of another project coordinator, during hisher absence. The post holder shall therefore be capable to understand and follow the activities carried out by the pool of project coordinators within the section Requirements A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Civil Engineering or in Mechanical Facilities Engineering or in Electrical Engineering A substantial experience minimum 5 years and a proven capability in building construction andor building maintenance or in the coordination of Facility Management projects Sound analytical skills e.g. be able to analyse any technical issue or infrastructure installation and create a clear and detailed technical report for root cause analysis, improvement or repair As much handon technical as procedure thinking skills, and the ability to work autonomously as well as with a team. An experience of ESA tender rules procedures and of international procurement methodology would be an asset. The post holder shall have a good planning and organisational skills, team spirit and ability to work in an international environment. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language.

Overview Providing expert technical support in Propulsion for Spacecraft chemical propulsion and for Launchers liquid and solid propulsion to the Agencys project teams responsible for the development of spacecraft and launchers, throughout all the project phases. Supporting the activities for studies, experimental investigations and engineering developments in spacecraft and launcher propulsion components, equipment, subsystems, systems. Supporting the activities for studies, experimental investigations and engineering developments in advanced propulsion components, equipment, subsystems, systems, such as nuclear propulsion, solarthermal upper stages, Airbreathing Propulsion, Advanced Chemical Systems, MEMS etc. Provision of specialised support to Agency feasibility and project definition studies, preparatory programmes and approved projects in the field of chemical propulsion. Participation in the definition and execution of the Agencys technology programmes. Contribution to the overseeing activities of the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. Harmonisation with other ESA and national developments and monitoring of applicable development trends. Provision of specialised support to feasibility, preparatory programmes and approved projects in the field of chemical propulsion, including CDF participation. Assessment and development of chemical propulsion novel propulsion concepts e.g. Nuclear and Airbreathing technologies. Assessment and development of relevant advanced propulsion methods, processes and concepts MEMS propulsion, Green Propulsion, Advanced Manufacturing etc. The configurationsystem design of chemical propulsion systems including the initiation of appropriate critical technology developments coordinating support by other DTEC sections. Establishment and promotion of design and engineering standards in the area of chemical propulsion. The undertaking of programmes of basic experimental research and evaluationqualification testing in the chemical propulsion in the ESA Propulsion Laboratory at ESTEC. Specific qualification requirements Master degree in Aerospace Engineering with emphasis in space propulsion related subjects and at least 4 years working experience in the Aerospace industry. Proven experience of electric propulsion systems and components for spacecraft andor a good knowledge of the specialist technological areas involved in advanced space propulsion as design and testing of high and very high power electric propulsion. Proven experience in the design, development andor testing of chemical propulsion systems andor components for spacecraft andor launcher applications. A good knowledge of other specialist technological areas involved in space propulsion i.e. materials, thermal, mechanical would also be desirable. Promoting cooperation and teamworking, problem solving. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
