NEMA congratulates the leadership of Montgomery County, MD, to make commercial and municipal building energy use transparent by introducing benchmarking and disclosure bill. Montgomery County Councilmember Roger Berliner introduced the legislation, along with majority of his colleagues, which would require large buildings to benchmark their energy use and disclose their ENERGY STAR® score, a 1-100 percentile ranking of building's energy performance as rated against similar building types. Penn State to renovate historic building

Kimberlee Payton-Jones Pennsylvania State University Park Board of Trustees approved final plans for renovating the Burrowes Building, which is the “historic core of campus,” the University reported. The $37.8 million renovation project is part of the school’s five-year capital plan. The building houses the Department of English and School of Languages and Literature and is in dire need of modernization, the school reported.
