We are currently looking for a System Engineer Optical Development to support our customer in Germany. System Engineer Optical Development Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is one of the leading providers of optoelectronic instruments and systems for aerospace and security applications. As part of the optical development team, you will have the following responsibilities Concepts development for spaceborne imaging instruments mirrorslenses optic Concepts development for the alignment and testing of optical instruments Assessing innovative technologies against their benefits for optical instruments Optical design of complex instruments Support in the development of specifications on systems and subsystems Support in the creation of development and production documentation Lead subcontractors as a system engineer technical cooperation with subcontractors for optical components Project management as required. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Physics, Optical Engineering or another relevant discipline, ideally with doctorate Several years of experience in optical design and development Extensive experience with ZEMAX Knowledge of technical optics and wave optics Very good communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory. Optical Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Technical lead of a team of optical development engineers Lead subcontractors as Systems Engineer Use systems specification to derive subsystems specifications for optical components and subsystems Performance verification Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Physics, Optical Engineering or another relevant discipline Several years of experience in optical design and testing Good knowledge of Matlab, Mathematica, Zemax as well as of relevant ISO and MIL standards e.g. ISO 10110 Familiarity with ESA processes and project phases advantageous Ideally, experience in working on complex space projects, e.g. at DLR or ESA Problemsolver, target oriented and the ability to supervise defined development projects independently Good knowledge of MS Office, programming experience would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory German would be an asset.
