Tele2 Norway sale prompts 1800 MHz auction delay
2014-08-25 12:19:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Norwegian postal and telecoms regulator PT said it has decided to postpone the auction of 1800 MHz spectrum unsold last December, as the sale of Tele2 Norway to TeliaSonera changes the market position. The auction of the 1800 MHz blocks had been due to take place in January 2015. PT said the sale of Tele2 Norway needs to be approved by the competition authority, which could impose conditions on the deal. It added that the transport department needs to clear the transfer of Tele2's frequency permits. These market changes could affect potential bidders in the auction, it said, hence the decision to delay the auction until a later time.
