Children in the Oakland community are invited to attend and choose free, brand new books from Bess the Book Bus at MAC's CITGO station at 7 Main Street from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. In addition to books, children will have the opportunity to receive other giveaways, including pencils, bookmarks, coloring pages, and drawstring backpacks, all courtesy of CITGO.

Watertown City School District capital project a year behind schedule

The Watertown City School District is a year behind on its proposed $12 million capital project, while other districts in the Jefferson-Lewis area are continuing their projects and are on track to finish, at the latest, next summer. The district's plans for a capital project, in the planning stage for two years, are highlighted by a districtwide Wi-Fi network and the replacement of a large building overlooking the football field outside Harold T. Wiley Intermediate School.
