Rackspace posts sharply higher profit

Cloud-computing company Rackspace Hosting Inc. posted a 77.5% increase in fourth-quarter profit but predicts first-quarter revenue below Wall Street estimates as currency issues restrain its growth rate. The company predicts growth of 2% to 3.5% on a constant-currency basis, and expects a currency "headwind" of 100 basis points.

Rackspace stock gets thumbs up from analysts

Stifel Nicolaus, the St. Louis-based brokerage and investment firm, has begun covering Rackspace Hosting and issued its first research report Jan. 8 with a "buy" rating on the stock. The San Antonio-based cloud hosting company recently received affirmations from several other stock analysts as well.
