Allegiant Air is the newest airline to serve Pittsburgh, with its service starting earlier this month to St. Petersburg, Fla., Jacksonville, Fla., and Punta Gorda, Fla. The Pittsburgh-Myrtle Beach route was discontinued some years ago by US Airways , although another budget carrier, Spirit Airlines , has seen success flying to and from Myrtle Beach from Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe.
