Our Spacecraft Control and Operations business unit in Darmstadt, Germany, are is seeking to employ Systems Integration and Verification Engineers. Tasks The tasks of this role will include Integrating and testing mission critical space ground systems according to the clients software product assurance standards, Reviewing and understanding user requirements with customers, Producing and automating test cases, plans, and reports, Analysing test results and investigating the root causes in collaboration with the developers, Maintaining and upgrading the development environment and build process, Quality and product assurance activities, Configuration of management activities, Delivery production activities, Related delivery documentation production, Performing and improving installation of required software systems, Contributing to the establishment and implementation of standards for testing across projects environment, procedures, tools and documentation, Collaboration with the client, users, and subcontractors, Performing factory and site acceptance testing witnessed by customer. Qualifications Required qualifications to be successful in this role The ideal consultant is a software integration verification engineer with an interest in a test verification andor a QAPA role. He or she should be able to support any manual testing and QAPA activities. Testers are also expected to write documentation on test tools and environments as well as test case descriptions and test reports. The candidate should be familiar with software and systems engineering and test methodologies and practices. Knowledge of programming languages Python, Java, CC, Bash, Perl and software build tools would be appreciated. Experience with tools for static and dynamic code checking is desirable. Essential skills include University degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Excellent problem solving capability Great attention to detail Willingness to take ownership of matters and to drive them forward Knowledge of Linux and Windows Scripting and programming languages, preferably Python, Bash, Perl, Java, or CC Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle Customer orientation Great communication skills Team player who is also able to work independently Willingness to travel approximately 10 Experience working in a multicultural environment Passion for space and defining complex systems Aspiration to learn and improve your skills and capabilities Fluency in both written and verbal English Desired skills include Experience working in the space industry in an integration and verification or similar capacity Experience in the engineering or operations of space mission ground systems Software testing experience user acceptance, integrational, data processing Experience with test management tools, e.g. IBM Rational DOORS and Quality Manager Experience with the administration of version control tools, e.g. GIT Experience with the administration of configuration management tools, e.g. Puppet Experience with the administration of continuous integration and related tooling, e.g. Jenkins Experience with the administration of static and dynamic code checking tools, e.g. Sonarqube Test automation experience ISTQB Foundation certification Interested? Our second generation of polar system satellites EPSSG will monitor the weather, the environment and climate change via three Metop SG satellites developed by our partner ESA. The first satellite launch is due in 2021 and we are looking for an Engineer to help us prepare the ground segment to maximise its performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in this project as it progresses to operational status. You will be responsible for the integration, verification and validation IVV of our ground segment as part of this mission. You will also manage our service contracts with our partners and suppliers. This role is integral to the success of the programme, as you will monitor the schedule and resources available to keep things on track. As we move into operations, you will support the transition, using your expertise to add value to other missions. Using your skills in the development of space systems, preferably in ground segment verification activities, you will be adept in handling test tools and data. Your strong system engineering background and track record in successful operational project management will be essential. With exceptional analytical skills, you need to demonstrate your ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to your team, partners and suppliers.
