(Telecompaper) Amazon has bought the A1 package, which includes the top games on Tuesday evenings. Amazon had already tried to acquire sports rights in Germany over the last 18 months, mainly targeting tennis such as the ATP Tour and Wimbledon. It holds the rights to broadcast via radio the German Bundesliga, in a deal worth EUR 5 million per year, and added the Champions League radio rights in Germany in 2017-18.

(Telecompaper) Telefonica has announced a major organisational restructure following a meeting of its board of directors. The company's 5-point plan to generate more than EUR 2 billion a year in additional revenues from 2022 onwards involves prioritising its four key markets of Spain, Brazil, Germany and the UK, carrying out an "operational spin-off" of its Latin American business and setting up a subsidiary for its cloud, cybersecurity and Internet of Things (IoT) businesses called Telefonica Tech and another for its infrastructure assets called Telefonica Infra.

Germany opens applications for local 5G licences for industrial campuses

(Telecompaper) The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy said that companies can start to apply to use 5G frequencies in the 3.7-3.8 GHz range on industrial campuses. Local frequencies enable firms to build their own private networks, rather than rely on telecommunications providers to build networks.
