For our activities in the European Space Agency, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic Maintenance Team Leader to work in an exciting innovative international environment The role will be part of a newly established Network Operations Centre NOC tasked with coordinating, configuring and monitoring activities related to the ESA ground segment, specifically the Telemetry, Tracking and Command TTC stations of the ESTRACK ground station network. The NOC is responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to the ESA space missions and its users. It provides Ground Operations, Operational IT and Operational Control Centre services and acts as single point of contact for realtime service requests from ESTRACK customers. The hardware maintenance team looks after the operational IT hardware, the local data centres and wiring centres as well as the operational control rooms on site. The primary responsibilities of this role will be Main responsibilities The main tasks of the Maintenance team leader will be Lead the Operational ITcontrol room maintenance team Supervise and coordinate the activities of the team Hardware installations Hardware maintenance and support Mechanical integration Electrical safety testing Cable installation, testing and patching Spare part management Shipping and handling of equipment deliveries Configuration management Testing Preventive maintenance Control room refurbishment. Maintain procedures and documentation Reporting Incident handling Support of LEOP launch and early orbit activities including occasional shift work Support the management of the operational services Providing training for junior team members Act as an interface to the customer Project management for refurbishment projectengineering activities. Ideal candidate Applicants need to have a solid background in IToperational support and experience in leading a support team in a critical 247 environment. Experience in a spacecraft operationsground station environment is a plus. Specific Requirements You will possess the following qualities Solid experience with project management, Prince2 or PMP certification preferred Excellent knowledge of common data centre infrastructures, including wiring concepts, cooling and power distribution Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Proactive and confident personality with good persuasive skills Teamplayer, able to interface with technical and management personnel Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several tasks in parallel Able to work on shifts occasionally Solid IT knowledge, including common hardware, networking concepts and common tools and software applications Service mentality and solid understanding of a KPI driven service environment Able to write and present documentation, procedures and training materialpresentations Experience in coordination and supervision of teams PC literacy MS Office Products, Lotus Notes. This team works on the definition and the development of new radiometric and geometric image processing algorithm. The key person will be responsible for design and development of image data processing libraries and tools. PROFILE On top of the requested skills, a work experience of at least three years in the image data processing domain is required.
