HTC Q4 sales top expectations

(Telecompaper) HTC reported fourth-quarter revenues of TWD 47.87 billion, up from TWD 42.89 billion a year earlier and at the top of the company's forecast range. The smartphone maker showed a steady improvement in sales over the quarter, with December sales increasing 22 percent year-on-year to TWD 15.2 billion. The quarterly operating result improved to a profit of TWD 0.18 billion versus a loss of TWD 1.56 billion a year ago. The company also booked a net profit of TWD 0.47 billion, up from TWD 0.31 billion in Q4 2013. HTC will release more detailed annual results at a later date. Over the full year 2014, its revenues fell 7.6 percent to TWD 187.9 billion.
