New York Times: Drew Lessard stood on top of Folsom Dam and gazed at the Sierra Nevada, which in late spring usually gushes enough melting snow into the reservoir to provide water for a million people. But the mountains were bare, and the snowpack to date remains the lowest on measured record. The company that bought ZymoGenetics five years ago announced this week it would move 40 of its researchers to a new facility in Redwood City. Bristol-Myers Squibb, which bought ZymoGenetics for $885 million in 2010 , told the Seattle Times that its facility on Lake Union will remain and that the move is part of a reorganization within the company.

Propane inventories have soared to the highest seasonal level in more than 30 years, sending prices in Texas to a 13- year low and forcing sellers in Canada to pay people to take it away. The bargain-basement price is a byproduct of the U.S. shale boom, as record production of natural gas has doubled the supply of propane, commonly used for heating, crop-drying and cooking.
