The duties shall be to analyze, design, and implement appropriate software configuration management, to support continuous integration, testing and deployment of UMARF software. Particular focus for this assignment will be to modernize and improve the development and build processes by using modern tools and strategies. It is Envisioned that this should be implemented on the Technical Compute Environment TCE. Particular the tasks will include, but not be limited to The migration of the subversion repository to the TCE. Build management Improve the build processes with the introduction of continuous integration technologies. This will require some extensive rewriting of current build scripts. The following goals should be achieved o An automated build process o Continuous running of test cases were possible o Improved reportingrealtime notification of build failuretest failures etc Release management o Improve the current software package management and deployment o Enable releases to be easily and efficiently implemented, tested and deployed Simplification of the development environment o All prerequisites libraries, jar files, environmental variables etc, should be available from version control Advice, suggestions and introduction of tools, practices and strategies for the software configuration management. In the performance of these activities, the key person shall follow the relevant operations change control and maintenance procedures.

Monitor evolution of the requirements and the applicability of their versions to procured items Develop and maintain, as well as support procurement of a test tools and software including reference processor software that implements the functionality defined in the processing specifications b test datasets that reflect the functionality defined in the processing specifications Support the verification and validation, deployment, acceptance and warranty of the operational software, specifically for instrument and product processors Any other tasks deemed appropriate by the technical officer in support of the overall aim of the tasks above. In the performance of these tasks, the key person shall comply with the applicable rules of the EUMETSAT Directory of Instructions DI and the EUMETSAT Management System EMS, the applicable organisational and divisional management standards, and also with the relevant working practices and procedures as well as the organisational and divisional documentation management procedures.
