Mechanical Design Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Mechanical Design Development, you will have the following responsibilities Mechanical configuration of satellites, payloads and mechanisms Development of mechanical designs for satellites and instrument structures Development of lightweight structure designs in particular highly stable structures employing new design concepts and materials such as fibrereinforced composites and ceramics Development and documentation of mechanical designs under consideration of functional, material and manufacturing requirements and constraints Support installation and integration studies on satellite and subsystem levels Generation of product definition drawings and documentation for bids and projects Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Aerospace, Mechanical engineering or similar Consistent extensive work experience in the space industry Extensive experience in the use of Catia V5 Ability to work well in teams and to relate instructions to others in a supportive manner Ability to work well in teams and to relate instructions to others in a supportive manner Willingness to travel occasionally to Ottobrunn Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of the German language is an advantage. Ideal candidate Requirements You should bring a Master level degree in either electrical, electromechanical or mechanical engineering, at least 5 or more years of project management coordination experience in building infrastructure and the following sound knowledge of project management principles good knowledge of European and Dutch applicable norms and legislation in their field of expertise high level of proficiency in the following MS Office software packages Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Visio. You must be fluent in English, both written and oral forms. Knowledge of Dutch is an asset for the position. Senior Mechanical Engineer

One of our clients in Belgium is looking for a fulltime, Senior Mechanical Engineer to aid the company is the designing of instruments and to take over the supervision of engineers working on various projects. Tasks Thermal design of space instruments within boundaries of thermal environment, mass, volume and power constraints in a vacuum environment. Active participation to all design phases including concept definition and elaboration, environment definition, thermal models generation, thermal analysis, detailed design, component selection, follow up with suppliers, testing. Supervision of a small team of engineers. Reporting to the Project Systems Engineer. Participate to the generation formal review technical data packages. Qualifications Recognized Mechanical Engineering degree Demonstrated 10 years experience performing thermal analysis and thermal design for optical space instruments. Knowledge Space project experience, preferably with ESA. Experience with space optical instrument system development life cycle, phases, reviews and deliverables. Knowledge of Space Engineering ECSS standards. Knowledge of ESATANTMS and other thermal SW packages is a must. Skills Good English skills. Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be confident to deal with a wide variety of people. Able to perform effectively under high workloads and be able to adapt to a rapidlychanging timecritical environment. Able to commit to the plan and deliver the expected results on time or to report proactively if any deviations are foreseen. Work in teams and good interpersonal skills to coordinate with team leaders and key stakeholders as well as in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Work proactively with capability to lead a small team, with the minimum of supervision.
