The Leidos Team is looking for a Systems Engineer with experience in Systems Architecture to work with our international team in The Hague, Netherlands, in support of the NATO Ballistic Missile Defence BMD Systems Engineering and Integration SEI contract. This effort supports the continued development of the BMD architecture, requirements and their implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing andor maintaining architecture products, supporting implementation decisions for NATO software systems, developing andor maintaining architecture governance processes, and reviewing system requirements and designs to ensure their compatibility with the overall enterprise architecture. Supporting efforts may include developing and maintaining project schedules, working with systems engineering tools, and interfacing with customers and stakeholders. The candidate may be expected to participate in systems engineering activities of increasing scope and complexity, as determined by the lead systems engineer. The above activities involve generation of documentation in UK English, as well as being involved and communicating with programme office personnel, stakeholders, and National Representatives in conferences and meetings. Qualifications Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in an engineeringtechnical discipline from an accredited college, and at least 8 years experience in systems engineering and integration or a Masters and at least 6 years experience Must have a current NATO Secret level security clearance High ability in speaking, writing, and understanding English is essential. All onsite work will be conducted in English. All personnel working onsite shall have a minimum required level of English language of SLP2222 as defined in NATO STANAG 6001 Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within an engineering team, is mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work Required skills are as follows Experience with at least one of the following Systems Engineering and Architecture Frameworks TOGAF, DoDAF, NAF, ITIL v3 Experience in architecture development, requirements and specification development Experience with C2 systems, military planning process and message standards. Description of the job An experienced AOCSGNC Attitude and Orbital Control SystemGuidance, Navigation and Control Architect is required in the Flight Dynamics and AOCSGNC Department. The AOCSGNC Architect is responsible for ensuring AOCSGNC development activities are performed on quality, on time and on cost. You will ensure that AOCS activities are properly coordinated across the whole project, that agreed schedule is maintained, and that all activities are successfully completed within the defined budgets. The AOCSGNC architect also proactively technically manages subcontracts. The job is a challenging and exciting mix of systems engineering including HW sensors and actuators knowhow, control engineering, project management and subcontract management. You will be expected to guide, review and approve AOCSGNC design and analysis activities through the full engineering lifecycle from initial concept design through to support to validation, producing the associated documentation design justifications, SW requirements for AOCSGNC algorithms, performance analysis documentation. In addition to strong technical skills, you should have the potential to guide other engineers and be experienced with work package management cost control processes. Subcontract management skills, with particular emphasis on schedule adherence and management, are necessary. The role will require routine business travels, both within the UK and around Europe. Tasks accountabilities Specific tasks will include As a key member of the system engineering team, contribute to the best optimisation of the overall system, by capturing the needs of other subsystems, and proposing the adequate AOCSlevel solutions for the other disciplines Responsibility for defining and managing the AOCSGNC System Requirements and Assumptions along the full lifecycle of Design, Development, Implementation, Performance and Validation. Interface with customer, systems engineering team, project management and subcontractors. Control AOCSGNC budget and schedule, define risks and risk mitigation strategies. Responsibility for technically managing subcontractors in what relates to the Spacecraft AOCSGNC System. Supporting the procurement of the AOCSGNC sensors actuators, checking approving performance analyses, and supporting the Software and System Validation Verification with Hardware in the loop. Analyse the Functional Verification test results and assess if the AOCSGNC verification is achieved. Support the Software Architect during the Software reviews on items related to AOCSGNC.
