Fiscal Year 16 omnibus appropriations approved

President Obama signed into law the Fiscal Year ’16 $1.149 trillion omnibus appropriations bill that keeps the federal government funded through Sept. 30. The bill repeals the ban on exporting crude oil and limits the Environmental Protection Agency to the lowest funding level since 2008 and prevents funds for new or expanded EPA regulatory programs. UTi Worldwide Loss Narrows in Fiscal 3Q

Logistics operator UTi Worldwide Inc. posted a slightly lower fiscal third-quarter loss of $32.7 million, or 34 cents per share, as ocean freight forwarding results weakened further at the company that has agreed to a $1.35 billion acquisition by DSV, a Danish supply chain and forwarding company. UTi, of Long Beach, California, lost $33.7 million, or 35 cents, in the period ended Oct. 31. Revenue declined 18% to $884.7 million.
