There's a report making the rounds that claims AMD cards perform terribly in Ashes of the Singularity based on results captured using Nvidia's FCAT tools. In this case, it's the tools that are wrong -- not the GPU.

Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking a Satellite Operations Instrument Engineer ISOE to support the operations, the engineering and the science to be undertaken as part of the Copernicus Sentinel3 routine operations. The ISOE be integrated into the Sentinel3 Spacecraft Operations Team, led by the Copernicus Sentinel3 Spacecraft Operations Manager, within the Flight Operations Division of the EUMETSAT Operations and User Services Department. The ISOE covers all satellite and system flight operations and payload data processing operations components aspects related to the operations engineering of the Sentinel3 OLCI, MWR, SRAL, SLSTR, DORIS and GNSS instruments. The ISOE will be trained to provide operations expertise and support to further platform subsystems and or payload instruments, depending on his or her experience and the overall team needs. The ISOE also participates in coordinating the satellite operations activities of other team members and external teams responsible for onboard software management, simulator support, mission control, mission planning, flight dynamics and ground stations. Furthermore, The ISOE will support system and operations preparation activities for Sentinel3B and for the recurrent mission with respect to their related activities. Responsibilities Your tasks will typically include but are not limited to Support to the commissioning and routine operations of Sentinel 3A, and preparing for Sentinel3B comprising Provision of operational expertise to your assigned instrument subsystems, in particular, with support to other platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close co operation with the Post launch Support Office PLSO in ESTEC and space industry Support the coordination of partner agency interactions for relevant subsystemsinstruments Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces Support to the system and operations preparation of sentinel3 C and D satellites Provide inputs and I or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites Support to the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites Provide operations preparation support as required to the Sentinel6 development This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in May 2016. The tasks will be carried out at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt, Germany but occasional travel within Europe may be necessary. You will be required to support operations during normal working hours, as well as support the oncall operations engineer rota, such that safe and efficient operations are ensured by the Spacecraft Operations Team on a 247 basis. Qualifications Competencies In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you shall have a demonstrated experience in at least two of the following mandatory skills Experience of at least 2 years of Spacecraft Operations on Low Earth Orbit LEO, 3 axis stabilised spacecraft with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, commissioning or routine operations phases Experience of at least 1 year ofSCOS2000 mission control system and use of the MOIS operations preparation tool Demonstrated experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key person to have experience with some of the following Specification of system and operational concepts, facility requirements Familiarity with OnBoard Control Procedure and OnBoard Position Scheduler concepts Familiarity with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard, customisation and usage Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures Data analysis software packages such as MATLAB File parsing languages such as PERL, A WK Use of VBA for development of adhoc tools in MS Office applications You should be selfmotivated and able to work in an organised and efficient manner with minimum supervision. Strong data analysis, processing and synthesis skills are essential and an ability to recognise opportunities for improvements in areas of work and implement appropriate solutions is highly desirable. The working language for the position is English and therefore the you must be able to work effectively in this language. Good communication skills would be also an advantage. Tasks The incumbent will report to the MTGI Product and System Manager, Earth Observation Projects Department, and will be in charge of Follow up the development and procurement of the IRS Quality Tools IQTS, its algorithms and associated tools Follow up the development and procurement of the IRS Payload Data Generator PDG Follow up the definition of the IRS algorithms for simulation, on board processing, and Level 1 ground processing Provide technical support to Satellite and Instrument reviews Provide support to the IRS calibration characterisation onground and inflight activities Provide support to the Validation Verification of the tools.
