System Modelling and Simulation Engineer

We are looking for a System Modelling and Simulation Engineer E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed Modelling of systems including spacecraft, ground segment and other required auxiliary systems. Elaboration, development and promotion of tools for distributed and collaborative engineering. Support for mission simulation, science operations planning and scheduling and experiment operations verification. Elaboration, development and promotion of the concept of generic simulation testbeds such as ATB, applicable for different projects, including preparation and promotion of relevant standards. Realtime simulation infrastructure and tools based on different platforms, including LINUX environments. This infrastructure can support both hardwareintheloop and manintheloop simulation. Support to ESA project teams in activities related to the procurement of EGSE for space systems, subsystems and instruments including preparation of requirement specifications, monitoring of industrial activities, acceptance of industrial products and participation in project reviews. Support to ESA project teams in activities related to the development of space system database software and utilization including support to specification, architecture, implementation, software problem solving, exchange and interfaces with external systems, data modelling verification of consistency and completeness of data, compliance with technical documentation, project reviews. Visualisation and graphical user interaction on different levels, including MMI design, parameter visualization, and up to highend 3D realtime, interactive and immersive visualisation systems, also known as Virtual Reality VR simulation. Develop, integrate and maintain VR applications and the related technology. Maintenance of the EGSE SCOS based reference facility and Space System Database reference facility to support prototyping of new technology standards validation and evaluation of industrial methods and tools. Participation in the definition of standards for ground system and operations, electrical test facilities and modelling and simulation in the context of ECSS and ESA internal standardisation. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Master degree in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent. Relevant experience within software engineering, software design and configuration control methods, tools and standards. Knowledge of realtime software and Object Oriented design methods, databases and most common operating system Windows, Corba, Linux, Unix, etc.. Knowledge of Space Systems and Space System Engineering. Knowledge and experience in most common programming languages in particular C, C, FORTRAN, Java, databases ORACLE, ACCESS, MySQL, ER, etc.. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. CS est un acteur majeur de la conception, de lintgration et de lexploitation de systmes dinformation et de communication critiques en France et linternational. Au sein de CS et de la BU ESPACE, rattach au dpartement Payload Data Applications, le candidat aura pour mission dintgrer lquipe SWOTSWIM de CS et lquipe dexpertise CNES de linstrument SWIM, ddi la mesure du spectre directionnel des vagues bord du satellite CFOSAT. Les activits portent sur le support de la recette en vol et de la calibration de linstrument SWIM. Elles consistent principalement en lanalyse algorithmique et le traitement du signal visant amliorer la chane de traitement maquettes au niveau L1B et L2 maintien et volutions, en liaison avec le LATMOS Laboratoire Atmosphres, Milieux, Observations Spatiales, avec un regard critique et une force de proposition, du codage et de loptimisation de code. Les maquettes seront utilises pour la validation des chanes de traitement oprationnelles avec lindustriel, mais galement pour produire des donnes pour la communaut scientifique et faire des tudes visant calibrer et valider linstrument. Vous devrez donc vous approprier rapidement lalgorithmie du simulateur et des maquettes ainsi que le code associ. Un dernier volet de votre mission consiste participer au maintien et lvolution dun logiciel avec interface graphique, sur lequel lquipe dexpertise sappuie au quotidien dans ses activits. Vous avez une formation dIngnieur information ou un quivalent universitaire Bac5, vous justifiez dau moins 4 ans dexprience sur un poste similaire traitement du signal radar altimtrique ocanographique. Vous avez des connaissances solides en langages IDL, Python, Script Shell, QTPyQTPySide et Fortran90. Vos principales qualits sont lesprit dquipe, la rigueur et lautonome. Des dplacements ponctuels en rgion parisienne LATMOS la premire anne sont prvoir. La liste complte des comptences requises est donne ciaprs codage o matrise des langages IDL, python et Shell demand, QTPyQTPySide et fortran 90 est un plus o matrise des codages doptimisation en IDL et python MPI, multiprocessing obligatoire conception o analyse de spcification et rdaction o dclinaison algorithmique des spcifications documentation o rdaction de manuel installationutilisation o rdaction de note technique. optimisation o maitrise des outils danalyse de performance o matrise des mthodes doptimisation capacit optimiser les algorithmes de calcul, paralllisation, gestion de mmoire exprience dans le traitement du signal radar altimtrique est un plus o exprience dans le dveloppement de code li ce type de signaux traitement du signal ocanographique o exprience dans le dveloppement de code li cette thmatique est un plus.
