According to AASHTO's March 2016 survey, 33 state departments of transportation (DOTs) either have or are exploring, researching, testing, or using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) – also known as drones – in various applications. Special report by AASHTO's Transportation TV explores ways in which state DOTs are using drones, and online fact sheet highlights benefits of UAV use.
