Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) named Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology and NIST Director Willie E. May as its Laboratory Director of the Year for 2016. Also recognized by FLC, NIST engineering team was honored with 2016 Excellence in Technology Transfer Award for computer simulation program that predicts air and contaminant movement within buildings. May and research trio will be honored at 2016 FLC national meeting in Chicago, IL.

Papers are sought for IAQ 2016 Conference, "Defining Indoor Air Quality: Policy, Standards and Best Practices," which will take place September 12–14, 2016. Authors are invited to submit papers on topics appropriate to Conference theme, and abstracts are due December 14, 2015. Upon acceptance, papers are due March 28, 2016. Abstracts are also invited for presentations and sessions that address the conference theme. These 400-word abstracts for 60 or 90 min sessions are due March 7, 2016.

Call for papers for the IAQ 2016 Conference, "Defining Indoor Air Quality: Policy, Standards and Best Practices," co-organized by ASHRAE and AIVC, has been extended until Nov 30, 2015. Scheduled for Sept 12–14, 2016, conference will focus on current and emerging definitions of indoor air quality and how they are – or could be – implemented in government policies and in standards for the design and operation of buildings and other indoor environments used worldwide.
