Participate to System level formal reviews. In the performance of these tasks, the Engineershall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards and quality management procedures. PROFILE The Engineer shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered mandatory At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of large scale systems engineering and architectural design Demonstrated ability to analyse systems from an endtoend perspective Capability to prepare design documents, to perform systemlevel analyses and to produce and maintain technical budgets. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered an advantage Experience in earth observation satellitebased projects, particularly in the areas of nearreal time data processing or spacecraft control systems Experience with Model Based System Engineering with the support of dedicated tools e.g. CORE Space and ground system engineering processes and standards. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The Engineer shall be in possession of sound interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and with a minimum level of supervision, exhibiting good oral and written communications skills, analytical capabilities, and motivation. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Responsibilities As an Operations Engineer your tasks will typically include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to the Attitude and Orbit Control System in particular, with support to other platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies.
