The Engineer will carry out tasks which support activities typically related to Phase BC of a space programme in the area of system design engineering and architecture definition. The Engineer will work within the Sentinel6JasonCS project, with potential support to other LEO programmes. TASKS The Engineer will perform system engineering activities such as Justification of the system design including producing and maintaining any relevant analyses and budgets General support to system engineering activities, for example o Documentation of system design and interfaces. o Support to the technical coordination with Partners. o Support to segment level activities and reviews as required. Participate to System level formal reviews. In the performance of these tasks, the Engineershall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards and quality management procedures. PROFILE The Engineer shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered mandatory At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of large scale systems engineering and architectural design Demonstrated ability to analyse systems from an endtoend perspective Capability to prepare design documents, to perform systemlevel analyses and to produce and maintain technical budgets. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered an advantage Experience in earth observation satellitebased projects, particularly in the areas of nearreal time data processing or spacecraft control systems Experience with Model Based System Engineering with the support of dedicated tools e.g. CORE Space and ground system engineering processes and standards. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The Engineer shall be in possession of sound interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and with a minimum level of supervision, exhibiting good oral and written communications skills, analytical capabilities, and motivation. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
