The areas of responsibility of this position cover both the EUMETSAT operational building infrastructure aspects operational rooms, power, cooling, etc... and the Storage Network Infrastructure SNI for Data protection aspects. The Storage Network Infrastructure provides a backbone of storage services to all EUMETSAT programs unified under a management framework. It satisfies storage service requirements in terms of size, performance, redundancy, availability, security, supports meteorological archive, data protection and disaster recovery. As a support to the GSI IME team, the Ground Segment Infrastructure Maintenance Engineer shall provide support to the Copernicus Sentinel3 operational support and maintenance of the Copernicus Sentinel3 infrastructure. The duties range from the installation, testing, maintenance and operational support of the missionspecific and MME infrastructure. This may include the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures, the support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external service providers. The consultant is expected to support the writing and reviewing of the requirement specifications and change proposals, to support the preparation of procurements, to participate in technical inspections and reviews, to support the documentation of the ground segment infrastructure system design, to contribute to the writing of evaluation reports, review reports, test reports and overall status reports and to support the change management procedures related to Copernicus Sentinel3 and MME infrastructure.
