Amazon bans sales of Apple TV, Chromecast on own site

2015-10-02 10:26:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Amazon announced its marketplace sellers that it implemented listing restrictions for streaming media players Apple TV, Google's Chromecast, and Nexus Player on its website, according to an email sent to customers that was obtained by Bloomberg. The reason behind this move is that these devices do not offer easy access to Amazon's Prime Video service. With this action, Amazon said it wants to avoid customer confusion. Roku, XBox, and PlayStation all interact well with Amazon's Prime Video and are not affected by this change, the company said. Effective immediately, marketplace sellers can no longer create new listings for these products, and as of 29 October, any existing listings for these products will be removed. There will be no adverse impact on end-users' seller accounts for the removal, but Amazon requests that end-users refrain from relisting removed products.
