Herald: There was a moment during CSIRO chief Larry Marshall's grilling by a Senate committee last week. Dr Marshall was being quizzed about his management of an organisational restructure. His aim is to get the nation's premier research agency, with 5000 employees and a century-long tradition of research in the public interest, to run more like a start-up company.
