BHEL wins $822.9m contract to build thermal power plant in Tamil Nadu, India

India's state-owned company Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been contracted by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution (TANGEDCO) to build 1,600MW Uppur supercritical thermal power project (TPP) in the state.
