About SCISYS Society is experiencing an unprecedented level of technological change and this is your chance to be at the heart of it. The SCISYS Autonomy and Robotics group have led the use of machine and now deep learning in European Space application development with a particular focus on robotic exploration of Mars. Machine learning, computer vision and more recently deep learning have been central to our work. We have found clients desiring a range of robotic applications in a variety of terrestrial domains, which are transforming many traditional ways of working. An example is the robotic survey of underground tunnels, which are GPS denied environments and can be dangerous to humans operating within them, where a range of mounted sensors deliver an unprecedented datarich model for surveyors and asset owners. As part of its growth strategy the SCISYS Space Division has successfully secured contracts in the nonspace robotics market and given this overall trend within the sector it is an excellent opportunity for a business development manager to build and grow a significant business for SCISYS in the coming years. SCISYS delivers a wide range of software services, solutions and consultancy to our institutional and commercial clients around the world. Developing robust, realworld software is our core business, as well as providing support services that create a real benefit to our customers. Our solutions are frequently at the heart of our clients operations and therefore critical to their business. Delivering these solutions requires a partnership approach and mutual trust, which we pride ourselves on and promote amongst our workforce. SCISYS is therefore looking to recruit a business development manager, to be based at its Bristol office in the UK, to grow a client base for our Autonomy and Robotics group. The Role The role will include all aspects of the sales lifecycle, including Input to the business development strategy for the robotics sector to help achieve the Space Divisions objectives Perform market surveys and competitor analysis to aid the positioning of the SCISYS offering Develop and execute a marketing plan to raise client awareness of our capabilities and services Seek, develop and close sales opportunities in line with the budget and agreed strategy Representing SCISYS credibly and professionally at conferences and exhibitions Identify and build relationships with key customer contacts and potential partners Understand the clients needs and contribute to the shaping of the services to meet the markets demand Fostering and managing a sales pipeline that delivers sustainable and profitable business Working collaboratively with our technical teams to identify winning propositions that will meet clients needs Contribute to and help shape proposals in all aspects to ensure a high standard is submitted. Providing a smooth handover from successful sales, negotiation and contract signature to the Operations Manager who is then responsible for the project delivery. Assisting in the preparation of business and sales forecasts, as well as reporting of all sales transactions Delivering agreed sales targets. Requirements This is a superb opportunity for an individual to join a dynamic and supportive business. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing and delivering appropriate wellstructured presentations and proposals. Strong capability to build relationships and able to communicate with all levels. Be a team player contributing to a collaborative environment. Willingness to travel regularly and frequently to customer sites. Professional and positive approach. Commitment to achieving targets. Graduate with a university degree in a relevant subject area. Whilst not a hard requirement it will be an advantage if the applicant has prior technical or sales experience in the area of robotics or surveying. Similarly, experience of machine learning, big data or data analytics will be advantageous. Candidates need to be eligible to work in the UK, have a valid driving licence and able to obtain security clearance.
