We are looking to further enhance our team by Data Services Software Engineering Consultancy Support You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include As a member of the Generic and Systems Infrastructure Division GSI, the key person shall provide support to the development and maintenance of data services systems. The duties range from the support to the operation of the Clients Earth Observation Portal to the analysis, design, development testing and maintenance of software functions maintained developed within the Data Services Engineering Team. This may include the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures, the support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. The particular focus on the tasks to be performed are the operational support and the design, implementation and testing of software corrections and evolutions. In particular the tasks will include Operational Support for data services systems o Monitoring the performance and behavior o Problem Investigation and anomaly raising o First Line System and Software support o Installation of software o OnCall support Design, implementation and testing of software corrections and evolutions o User Interface Development o Server Side Development Testing o Unit and Integration Testing o Acceptance and integration of external software o Verification Validation support Requirements management o Review and analysis of user requirements o Specification of system and software requirements Generation and maintenance of technical documentation o System and Software Requirements o Architectural Design o Interface Control Documents o Software Unit and Integration Test Plans o Maintenance Procedures Participation and organisation of technical meetings and formal reviews Preparation and production of routine reports In the performance of these activities the key person shall follow the relevant operations change control and maintenance procedures. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, the key person must have excellent team working skills, being able to work autonomous and have good analytical skills. The key person shall have skills and experience in the following mandatory areas minimum 5 years for each System Maintenance Skills Extensive experience in the provision of first line support for operational systems, which includes the monitoring of the performance, problem investigation, coordination of resolutions and oncall support. Software Engineering Skills Extensive experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the Java programming language under Unix Sun Solaris, Linux using Object Oriented OO approach including design patterns for web portals. Extensive experience in developing software applications using interfaces to relational database management systems RDBMS and management of their schema. System Development Maintenance Skills Strong technical expertise for translating user requirements into software requirements, architecture evolution and implementation. Extensive experience in software development and maintenance using a formal life cycle resulting in deliveries to customers. This includes requirements management, software design and implementation reflecting corrective and evolutions of software components. Extensive experience in software validation and verification related activities test procedure generation, nonregression testing, requirements verification and validation. Documentation and Software Configuration Management Skills Experience in using software configuration management, anomaly reporting and tracking tools. Software Technology Skills Java programming language User interface development using JSF MyFaces, Primefaces Web Services Apache CFX Tomcat application server Oracle JDBC, SQL and PLSQL XML, XML Schema and XSLT technologies Software Source Code control system SubVersion Software Building and Package management ant, maven Unit testing frameworks JUnit Eclipse. Practical knowledge of as many as possible of the following technology skills will be an advantage OGC Standards such as CSW, WMS, WCS, WFS Single Sign On Solutions OpenSSO, OpenDS, SAML2, LDAP Programming o Enterprise Service Bus Mule o Web development HTML, CSS, Javascript o Perl programming language o Meteorological Data Formats NetCDF, geoTiff oXygen XML editor Requirements management DOORS Toolbased Software design UML Enterprise Architect Basic SolarisLinux or Windows 7 system administration. The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
