The United States hit an all-time car-buying record in 2015, with auto makers reporting a shocking 17.47 million vehicles sold. More critically, sales of smaller cars actually decreased slightly, meaning that virtually all of the growth in vehicle purchases came from SUVs and trucks. That trend in particular is driven by comfortably low gas prices, which have stayed around $2 per gallon nationwide...
