Phillip Washington, CEO of Denver's Regional Transportation District since 2009, was named Thursday as CEO of Southern California's Metropolitan Transportation Authority. “Phil Washington is the ideal person to manage our $36 billion transportation infrastructure program to ease congestion, cut smog and boost our economy for decades to come,” said Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who is also chairman of the Metro board.
