Google looks to secure Bluetooth beacon communications

Privacy remains the biggest barrier to beacon adoption, as consumers don't always feel comfortable sharing their location with others. Those privacy concerns are compounded by the fact that Bluetooth communications are susceptible to remote monitoring by hackers: a recent study found that hackers could use Bluetooth fitness trackers to remotely track a user's location.
