HTC sees Q2 sales fall 50%

2015-07-06 11:36:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) HTC reported revenues for the second quarter at the low end of its already reduced forecast. Revenues for the three months to June fell 50.7 percent from a year-earlier to TWD 33.01 billion. In early June, HTC already lowered its outlook for Q2 sales to TWD 33-36 billion, from earlier guidance of TWD 41.5-45 billion, citing weak demand for high-end Android phones and slow sales in China. The annual decline in sales accelerated in the course of the quarter, from a fall of 39 percent in April to over 60 percent lower revenues in June. As a result of the lower sales, the company recorded an operating loss of TWD 5.14 billion in Q2 and a net loss of TWD 8.03 billion or TWD 9.70 per share. The company will give a full quarterly earnings report at a later date.
