Homemade explosive device destroyed on NC coast

A bomb squad has destroyed an improvised explosive device made up of car flares, a battery pack and wine bottles connected with duct tape that was found in Surf City. Authorities tell local media outlets that a real estate agent saw the device Tuesday in a home that has been vacant since earlier this month.
