In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as aerospace engineering, physics or remote sensing, the Consultant shall have strong mathematical skills and at least three years recent experience in Implementation of numerical algorithms, ideally in an image processing context Objectoriented system design C programming UNIX. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Consultant to have experience with some of the following Realtime image processing of large volumes of data Geometric correction navigation registration of satellite images Radiometric correction calibration of satellite images Performance optimization of algorithms IDL or MATLAB Integration, verification, and validation of realtime data processing systems Familiarity with ECSS standards, in particular those related to software development. The Consultant shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Good communication, presentation and listening skills are an advantage. The working language for this position is English and therefore the Consultant must be able to work effectively in this language.
